Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good reference to Red Sea fishes/corals.   January 11, 2002

I took this on a recent diving holiday and it was useful for identification, although some of the photos are a little ropey (especially on silver fish). A good general guide though.

4 out of 5 stars Do not go Diving in the Red Sea without this book!!!   May 20, 2001

This book was an essential tool on my first scuba diving trip to the Red Sea. I took it with me for my reference however it soon became the book on the boat that all divers were using. Many divers went home with the details of this book so that they could also purchase it.

The book allows you to identify most common types of underwater species categorized by family group. You can find out the name of the creature that swam alongside you!!

The only reason I rated this book a four and not a five is because it lacks detail on nudibranch. An interesting species that a trained eye will spot in the Red Sea.

The book has certainly increased my awareness of what lives in the Red Sea. It is the first thing packed for all Red Sea holidays.
