Amazon.co.uk Review This Greatest Hits compilation charts the period (1987-92) in Kylie's career when there was the most rapid change in both her image and music. Every single promo she made during her PWL period is featured, including the previously unreleased videos for "Made in Heaven" and "Celebration". Although the track listing is out of sequence, if watched in chronological order the distinct stylistic phases of Minogue over this five-year period soon become evident. From the cute bubble-perm Kylie of the "I Should Be So Lucky" era, to the sex-Kylie phase that commenced with 1990's "Better the Devil You Know", the videos represent all her early incarnations.
Her fashion disasters are also recorded, too, such as the bizarre outfit and shoes she wore for "Got to be Certain" and the Parisian wartime look adopted for "Je ne sais pas pourquoi". Her most outrageous but greatest video moment is where she parodies certain movie stars in the chic video for "What Do I Have to Do?", and because of her heavy eye make-up almost earns herself the title drag-queen Kylie (watch out for sister Dannii who briefly stars in the video, wearing a blonde wig). All in all it's an excellent collection for those wanting a visual introduction to early Kylie, and/or those too young to remember her first time round.
On the DVD:Kylie Greatest Hits unearths some very rare pieces of Kylie history and the producers of the DVD have gone out of their way to make the compilation as comprehensive as possible. However, the transfer quality is not much better than awful, both for rarities and more popular material such as "Especially for You". Diehard fans will be pleased, though, by the majority of the videos from the late-1980s including vintage personal introductions from Kylie about the making of the promos etc. Other bonus features include the videos for the Australian versions of "Locomotion" and "Word Is Out", and alternate promos of "Got to be Certain", and "I Should Be So Lucky". --John Galilee
GREATEST PWL HITS!!August 25, 2004 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Get this DVD to see what's Kylie was like in those early days.. She's really changed a lot in styles and now her vocal too..
fantastic kylieDecember 1, 2003 This really takes me back to the golden days of Kylie and PWL.They were also good days for me with my first job & my first Girlfriend. This is a brilliant collection of the fresh faced Kylie and the girl next door look. The songs are sickly sweet and a little cheesy it has to be said. But here at last are all the early hits and original interviews with the little diva. It's so good to see alternate versions here in high quality for the most part.I would like to have seen a double DVD though with her early concerts included so only 4 stars !.As a footnote I would like to see a similar DVD for Rick Astley produced.
Pete Waterman cashes in... again!December 22, 2002 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I would recommend this DVD to all Kylie fans, however a few things to be aware of. It only contains material from her PWL years and it is rumoured Kylie herself was not happy with Pete Waterman's idea of cashing in on the early days with the recent Kylie phenomenon. With that said it is a nice collection of material on one DVD, many of the extra clips are taken from the Kylie videos released along side the original releases of the early albums.
So to sum up if you're a Kylie fan and are nostalgic with the 80's PWL Kylie buy it now! If not maybe opt for the Fever Tour instead.

A stunning trip down memory laneDecember 4, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This superb DVD includes all of Kylie's early hits with PWL. From I Should Be So Lucky, The Loco-Motion, Got To Be Certain, through to her later and more sexy videos such as Better The Devil You Know, Shocked, What Do I Have To Do and What Kind Of Fool. Included here are some very dodgy alternative versions. The best being Kylie being driven round in a car miming I Should Be So Lucky and then dancing round a park in 5" high heels much to the amusment of on-lookers! Also included for the first time ever is the Celebration video. Which was Kylie's final PWL single as well as a great online videography with details of where they were shot etc. This is an essential release and a must have for fans of the Stock Aitken Waterman era.
