Nice concert but get the box setJune 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great concert although I agree it sounds a little rushed at times. For a much better bargain go for the box set which includes the 20 track CD for only about 2 pounds more. Also take a look at Cat Stevens (now called Yusuf)'s 2007 DVD "Yusuf's Cafe Session - Live At The Porchester Hall" which includes a lot of the old songs and new ones from his 2006 album "An Other Cup".
Magical!May 6, 2006 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
As a fan of Cat Stevens since '71 I had given up on ever having a recording of him in concert. This dvd was an answer to many prayers-its pure magic.Recorded during his 'Majikat' tour of the states in 1976 it contains most of his best known tracks. Opening with the beautiful 'The Wind', it progresses tru' 'Moonshadow','Hard Headed Woman','Oh Very Young' and ends with the classic 'Peace Train'.There are many other fine tracks including his un-matched original version of 'Father And Son'. What I really like about this concert is Cats inclusion of lesser known album tracks.I was always a huge fan of his two classic albums 'Teaser And The Firecat' and 'Tea For The Tillerman' and these have a strong representation here, including the tracks 'Where Do The Children Play' and 'Tuesdays Dead'. He's supported on stage by a group of fine musicians, some of whom also played on his albums, most notably Alun Davies, who was responsible for much of the fine guitar playing on his studio albums. The set seems a bit dated after so many years but this is a small price to pay for the wonderful songs. These songs have not dated at all and Cat gives an excellent performance of each with just one note glitch over the whole concert.Definitely one for the Cat Stevens fan...heartily recommended!!

I have been a fan of Cat Stevens since 1970. I never got to see him live, I have never seen him interviewed. On this DVD you get a well rounded selection of songs, excellant sound and vision and an interesting interview.100% delivery.Just trust me and buy it.Hopefully there will be a full CD of Yusef songs in the not too distant future. In the mean time, thank you Cat.
