Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars A decent introduction to a huge field.   January 29, 2000

This was my first introduction to the huge field of "exotic" animal medicine. However, as time has gone on it has become apparent that it spreads itself too thinly and it often doesn't provide thorough information on a species. A good book if you see a small number of exotics, but if you see them with any regularity, I would advise going for the species specific manuals published by the BSAVA. This book was published in 1991, and there have been huge advances in our understanding of diseases and in the methods and drugs for treatment. It is long overdue for an expansion and update.
