Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Engaging, vibrant and packed with information   October 6, 2008
I strongly disagree with the previous review and enjoyed this book immensely. It has exciting, broad and ambitious scope - a vast amount of extremely well researched material is assimilated into a coherent and engaging narrative.

A stale disappointment given such wonderful subject. Does the mighty Salmon a particular disservice as the prose style, ironically is flaccid, florid and lacking in the vigour and strength of the beastie it would celebrate.
