Jeremy Strong does a wonderful job of exploring the ups and downs of having a dog as a family pet. The responsibilty, trauma, joy and love, are all handled with great humour and sensitivity. Anyone who has owned a dog, or lived in a country suburb will identify with it immediately. Definitely perfect for a family trip in the car, but make sure your journey lasts at least 1 hour 30 minutes, because you will not be allowed to stop the car until you have heard how it ends!
