5 out of 5 stars We love mog !   September 23, 2008

The Mog stories are the ones my son, now age 14 still looks back on as his favorites, They are heart warming and very funny, infact they have moved us to tears of laughter, but are also very thought provoking too, I think the "Painfull" review is lacking in imagination, where children certainly are not. The books portray a very "together" family, that care for Mog, Fantastic set, I have just bought 2 more for sets for presents. Try Mog's Christmas if you can find it, ours is a very old and well used copy that has been handed down from family members !

1 out of 5 stars Painful   September 10, 2008

I was rather seduced by an offer on this collection, thinking a bargain was in store, but having strained my way through the first of the collection, was horrified to find it was the best of them all. The animation is average to poor, sometimes scary for a little one, the language incredibly stilted giving no flow and the stories confusing or irrelevant. Almost every story contains a peculiar dream sequence, which is not only hard for a small child to understand, but ocassionally a little disturbing, like when the little girl dreams that a tiger wants to eat her or the story in which Mog falls asleep and never wakes up. The Mum/Dad relationship is incredibly old fashioned with Dad reading the newspaper, watching the boxing, shouting at the cat and generally being all but the father we would like to see presented to our children. The world of Mog is not the one I would recommend for any happy young soul.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant value set; ideal present...   January 13, 2008

Five large, good quality Mog books in a hardback box, including a story CD; for an extremely good price.
What a wonderful present idea for boy or girl, age range 4-7, although my 8 year old also enjoyed reading them with her younger brother.
The CD was a bonus.
Nicely illustrated books including an ABC story that is very amusing with lots of alphabet themed sentences.
Very good buy for the book shelf.
